My Boyfriend Sweater is a men’s sweater but can also be worn by women – but then body and sleeves are worked shorter.
The design has focus on the upper body (sleeves and yoke) by working horizontal stripes and visible decreases on the sleeves in front to add focus on the upper arms. By not working stipes on the lower part of the sweater an eventual pampering belly is minimized.
Short rows are worked in the neck and in the lower part of the body, so that the sweater is a bit longer at the back (it fits better and will not slide up).
All edges have a bend in a contrast colour, and the neckline is bending a little out - to avoid 3 days stubble to scratch up the knitting.
My Boyfriend Sweater is worked top down with raglan increases and fair isle technique – and it is worked in one strand of Pernilla from Filcolana on circular needles 3 and 3,5 mm – but other yarn qualities can also be used if the gauge is correct.

Measurements, yarn and needles:
88 cm • 92 cm • 100 cm • 108 cm • 116 cm • 124 cm
The measurement for the sweater is a guideline. The sweater has a relatively tight fit -I recommend a positive ease off 5 cm. The sweater is worked in one strand of Pernilla from Filcolana on circular needles 3 and 3,5 mm – but other yarn qualities can also be used if the gauge is correct.
Note, below measurements are after damp and the measurements are men’s size. If you work the sweater for women, you need less yarn and it is important to try on the sweater as you work to decide on the length of the body and the sleeves.
Length from armhole and down:
38/40 cm • 40/42 cm • 40/42 cm • 40/42 cm • 41/43 cm • 41/43 cm

Stockinette on needles 3,5 mm in vertical stripe pattern (3 colour A and 2 colour B) using one strand of Pernilla: 25 sts = 10 cm
Gauge after damp 24 sts = 10 cm
